Following the success of Evalita 2007, Evalita 2009 and Evalita 2011 we are organising EVALITA 2014, the fourth evaluation campaign of Natural Language Processing and Speech tools for Italian.
Evalita 2014 is supported by the NLP working group of AI*IA and AISV (Associazione Italiana di Scienze della Voce/Italian Association of Speech Science).
EVALITA 2014 will be held on December, 11 2014 in Pisa, as a Workshop of the XIII Symposium of the Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence (AI*IA 2014). The participation in the Workshop is open to the registered members of the association and registration must be done through the Symposium dedicated page, where you will also find information on deadlines and fees.
Workshop early registration deadline is October, 31 2014.
Please use the hashtag #evalita2014 to disseminate the initiative on Twitter.
As in the previous editions, EVALITA 2014 will be organized along few selected Tasks, which provide participants with opportunities to discuss and explore both emerging and traditional areas of Natural Language Processing and Speech for Italian. The goals of each task is to compare systems on common data sets applying different approaches and paradigms, to share experiences, foster research communities, identify open issues and explore directions for future research, thus providing significant room for controversial and stimulating discussions.
The participation is encouraged for teams working both in academic institutions and industrial organizations.
The registration for tasks' participation deadline is September, 8 2014.
